About

Hi, This is the personal web site for Erich Bremer (that's me).  On this site, you will find pages of things that I am interested in, have done, hope to do, or recommend.  If any of it interests you, sign up for an account.  Some content may not be available without an account.  If you have any questions, send me an e-mail at erich@ebremer.com

Who am I?  I am a computer and systems engineer facinated with most aspects of computers and information technology.  I am currently spending time with virtual world technologies such as Second Life and OpenSimulator and their potential applications to education and research.  Current projects include semantic RDF data visualization, molecular visualization, standardized patients, and the semantic web in general. For exploration and fun, I created a web site for my home town, Yaphank, New York at www.Yaphank.org which gave me the chance to meet and work with many of my neighbors on various projects within Yaphank.  My latest project in the works is a 3D re-creation of the Octagon House (in Second Life of course) which was built in the 1800's in Yaphank, but burnt down in ~1960 and now only the foundation remains.  After the Octagon house, I will be re-creating the Booth House, Hawkin's House, and the grist mill (destroyed by fire) thus creating a 3D virtual Yaphank for people to come see and enjoy and see how these early houses looked (or look today). - Erich
